Asra Hussain Raza, a Pakistani woman, was among the victims of collision in the air between Flight 5342 of American Airlines and a American military black hawlin helicopter and subsequent accident against the Potomac River.
The accident occurred when Asra returned to Washington after a work trip to Wichita, Kansas.
She had sent a text message to her husband, Hamaad Raza, before the accident, informing her that she would land in 20 minutes. Hamaad was waiting at the airport but never received another message.
Asra, a 26 -year -old corporate finance graduate from the University of Indiana, had completed his mastery in public health at Columbia University.
He dedicated himself to improving public health and recently had begun to work for a consulting firm in Washington, DC. He had married her Hamaad husband two years ago, and according to reports, they were eager to start a family.
The families of Hamaad and Asra are devastated by the loss. The father -in -law of Asra, Dr. Hashim Raza, shared how affectionate and compassionate was, highlighting his love for the kitchen and his desire to help people. Dr. Hashim, a recognized doctor in Missouri, is originally from Karachi, Pakistan.
The tragic incident has left Hamaad, who works as an accountant in Missouri, with a broken heart, while reflecting on the couple’s future plans.
On the other hand, sixty -seven people died when a regional passenger plane from American Airlines collided with a Black Hawk helicopter from the US army near the Potomac River, near the Reagan Washington National Airport, on Wednesday.
The Jet Bombardier, which transported 64 people, and the Black Hawk, with three soldiers on board, crashed into the Potomac River. The authorities confirmed that there were no survivors and have transition from rescue to recovery efforts.
The collision occurred when the plane landed after a routine flight from Wichita, Kansas, with passengers, including ice skaters and former world champions.
President Trump confirmed the deaths and launched a political attack against hiring of diversity, claiming that the tragedy was linked to previous practices of diversity in aviation.
