Several social networks had speculated that the name of Imran Khan, the winning captain of the Pakistan World Cup in 1992, had been removed from the VIP enclosure at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore, for political reasons.

The stadium has experienced significant improvements and modernization to meet international standards.

The Imran Khan enclosure has been a prominent part of the stadium since 1992, honoring the role of the former Cricket player in the historic Victoria of the Pakistan World Cup.

PCB clarification follows online a generalized speculation, and some suggest that the name was eliminated due to political considerations. However, officials insist that the reports are completely false and part of an ongoing misinformation campaign.

Recent stadium updates include new seat arrangements, improved facilities and improved infrastructure, ensuring an improved experience for players and fans.

In addition, a monumental 25 -foot height statue of two tons of a “man of runners” was installed at the entrance of the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore before the Male Champions trophy of the CPI 2025.

Previously, the PCB had announced the name change of two enclosures in the National Bank Stadium in Karachi to honor the former Cricket Shahid Aphridi and Young Khan captains.

On the site will be renowned after Shahid Afridi, while Majid Khan Eenclosure will be renamed Young Khan.

In addition, the PCB has decided to change the name of the Zaheer Abbas enclosure to the Nazar Mohammad enclosure. Previously, the enclosures are named after the legends of Cricket Majid Khan and Zaheer Abbas. Each enclosure has a capacity of 1,050.
