Gasoline price increased by RE1, HSD RS7

Islamabad:

The Government announced an increase in high -speed diesel prices (HSD) in up to RS7 per liter, starting February 1 (today).

The price of gasoline has also increased by RS1 per liter, with the changes established for the first half of February 2025.

The high speed diesel, which is widely used in the agriculture and transport sectors, will see an increase in RS 260.95 to RS 267.95 per liter, reflecting an increase of RS7.

This walk is expected to have an inflationary impact on the masses, particularly due to the highest transport rates. Gasoline, which is mainly used in motorcycles and cars and serves as an alternative to the CNG, especially in the province of Punjab, has risen from RS256.13 to RS 257.13 per liter, registering an increase of RS1.

The increase in gasoline prices follows the trend of increased fuel costs, since consumers in Punjab have been resorting to GNL imported in CNG stations due to the continuous prohibition of using indigenous gas, which has been in force for several years due to the country’s scarcity. .

In a statement, the Ministry of Finance said that the Petroleum and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had reviewed and adjusted consumer prices of oil derived products in view of recent fluctuations in the international oil market.

In addition, he said that the prices of these products had been set during the first half of the current month.

At present, the government is charging a higher rate of oil tax (PL) that amounts to RS 60 per liter each in gasoline and diesel in an attempt to raise more income from oil consumers.

Similarly, the price of the consumer of LPG has been reviewed at RS253,972.54 per ton or RS2,996.88 for 11.8 kg of cylinder, which reflects the same increase of RS3,688.11 per ton and RS43.52 per cylinder of the previous month .

The OGRA said that the price of the GLP producer is linked to Saudi Aramco-CP and the exchange rate in US dollars. Compared to the previous month, Saudi Aramco-CP has increased by 1.6%.

The average exchange rate of the dollar has increased slightly by 0.19%, resulting in the increase in the price of LPG consumer in RS43.52/11.8 kg of cylinder (1.47%). The increase per kg in the price of the consumer of LPG is RS3.68
