The president of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Junaid Akbar, has confirmed continuous communication between party leadership and institutional organizations, while emphasizing that such communications have always taken place at the discretion of PTI In the past.
Speaking to the media after presiding over the first meeting of PTI leaders in Peshawar on Sunday, Akbar declared that the meeting focused on preparing for the next demonstration of protest on Swabi on February 8, which described as the largest meeting of PTI in kp.
Several leaders of PTI and members of the Provincial Assembly attended the meeting, while Prime Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was remarkably absent.
Akbar clarified that the CM was not invited to the meeting due to its pre -existing responsibilities. However, he assured that a separate meeting would be held with the CM with respect to Swabi’s protest.
In his conversation with the media, Akbar expressed a strong disapproval of the comments made by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, accusing him of making inappropriate statements.
Naqvi on Saturday had warned the PTI of a strict action if he continues with his planned protest on February 8 that coincides with the Champions Trophy party scheduled in Lahore.
“The Government will request the PTI to reconsider its planned protest on February 8, but if the party refuses, the State will take the necessary measures,” said Interior Minister.
He accused the group of damaging the international image of Pakistan organizing demonstrations every time foreign dignitaries visit the country. “Its policy promotes chaos instead of constructive development.”
However, Akbar described the actions taken against PTI workers as “state terrorism” and expressed concerns about the possibility of violence during future protests, stating: “This time, we hope that even bullets shoot us during any protest.”
He confirmed the ongoing communication between PTI and state institutions, attributing it to PTI’s strategic approach, since he acknowledged that the party did not seek confrontation with the institutions, but emphasized that any instruction that the founder Dé, will not disappoint him or the public .
In response to a consultation on possible changes in the provincial cabinet, Akbar declared that such decisions are under the authority of CM.
