Badin: The police have included the adopted son of the poet Dr. Akash Ansari in the investigation based on the suspicion that his death may not have been accidental, the authorities confirmed on Sunday.

The famous Poet Sindhi Allah Bux popularly known as Dr. Akash Ansari, 69, died when a fire broke out in his house located in the Citizen neighborhood, Hyderabad.

His cousin Jan Mohammad Ansari revealed that the deceased poet had previously submitted a first information report (FIR) against his adopted son, Latif Akash, accusing him of attempted murder. In addition, he claimed that the son was a drug addict and had threatened Akash’s life. The family is considering legal actions after consultations.

Meanwhile, Akash’s friend, Dr. Ilmuddin Ansari, said the post Mortem exam was performed due to dirty game suspicions. He added that the report showed signs of torture in the body.

The police have arrested the two suspects as investigations continue.

Latif, after the incident came to light on Saturday, said Akash was asleep when a fire broke out in his room around 8:30 am

The members of the deceased’s family took his body to Badin for the burial, but at the request of the authorities, the poet’s body was taken to the Hospital of the University of Liaquat, Hyderabad, for an autopsy.

Later, the police expressed the possibility of a short circuit that could have caused the fire. In addition, they said that their son was at home when the incident occurred and had sought the help of rescue officers and neighbors to save his father’s life.

Police also added that the poet had filed a case against his adopted son in 2024, but then buried the ax.

Sindh’s prime minister Syed Murad Ali Shah ordered research on the incident. In line with the instructions of the Prime Minister, Hyderabad SSP formed a team of five members, headed by the SP Masood Iqbal headquarters, to investigate the incident.
