Javier Milei faces charges in Argentina on Libra: AP

The lawyers in Argentina are pressing charges against the president of the country, Javier Milei, during the ‘carpets’ stretch of this weekend of the Token Libra, reports Associated Press.

The AP says that the plaintiffs are accusing Milei of committing fraud as they affirm when Milei withdrew the messages that support the Token that lost their value, and this movement ‘carpet attracted’ the investors.

Milei’s office has said that he was not aware of the exact details behind the Token, and only published about it with other projects and new companies based in Argentina.

“The president shared a publication in his personal accounts that announced the launch of the KIP Protocol project, as he does daily with many entrepreneurs who want to launch projects in Argentina to create jobs and attract investments,” said the president’s office, to the AP, noting that he met with the team behind him at Milei’s office.

Milei has not yet been formally accused of a crime, since AP reports that prosecutors will meet on Monday to determine if it is worth pursuing the case.

Meanwhile, researchers in the chain have determined that the team behind Libra can be the same behind Melania’s Token given the number of similar wallets.
