The Senate Panel directs the start of the highway project this fiscal year

The Permanent Committee of the Planning Senate ordered the interested authorities to begin the construction of the Hyderabad-Sukkur highway in the current fiscal year, noting that building large roads was the responsibility of the federal government.

The committee that met here with its president Quratul Ain Marri in the president, expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of planning for the flagship program ‘Uraan Pakistan’ when the ministry officials did not answer the questions of the members.

During the meeting, the officials of the Ministry of Planning informed the participants about the Uraan Pakistan program. They said that the country’s exports would increase to $ 40 billion in the current fiscal year, while the Government aimed to increase them to $ 60 billion in the next five years.

The Shahadat Awan committee member raised the issue of water problem in the country and asked the ministry about any plan to mitigate this problem. He also asked if the provinces had been taken in confidence in the issue of the construction of six new Channels of the Indo River.

However, ministry officials could not satisfy the Uraan Pakistan committee. The president observed that the Uraan Pakistan program or his “vision is good, but what will be the implementation procedure?”

Another member of the committee, Zeeshan Khanzada, said the ministry did not have the details about the implementation of the program. He complained that the relevant authorities, including the Minister of Planning, were not available at the meeting to provide answers.

At the beginning of the meeting, the president expressed his disgust due to the absence of the minister. Marri told the committee that the meeting was delayed until February 19 at the request of the Minister’s office, but did not attend.
