Pakistan launches 22 Indian fishermen, the repatriation process begins

The Pakistani authorities have published 22 Indian fishermen from Malir de Karachi prison, beginning their repatriation process on Friday, as confirmed by a police officer.

Arshad Shah, the Malir prison superintendent, confirmed that the fishermen began their return to India once the necessary formalities of the Indian side were completed.

He stressed that Pakistan strives to ensure that the prisoners remain in good condition and that they are immediately released upon receiving the required directives.

Faisal Edhi, president of the Edhi Foundation, organized transportation for fishermen to Lahore, from where they will continue their trip back to India. The Edhi Foundation covered its travel expenses and provided gifts and effective.

Edhi also urged both governments to adopt a more compassionate approach to fishermen who involuntarily cross the maritime limits.

He emphasized the suffering of their families during their imprisoned prolonged and requested their immediate release and rapid repatriation once their sentences are completed.

Typically, the Pakistani authorities repathered Indian fishermen through the Wagah border, where the Indian authorities facilitate their return to coastal communities after completing official formalities.
