Remam Khan, politician and ex -wife of the founder of PTI Imran Khan, has said that he can receive some relief if “pray for mercy”, but it is unlikely to keep him in jail for a prolonged period.

Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, he criticized the political approach on the bond of Imran Khan. “Everyone is obsessed with the bond of a person. But, why is there so much concern? Even Trump will help the prisoner,” he said, without appointing imran directly.

Refam highlighted the loyalty of former US president Donald Trump to his allies. “Trump supports his friends. Three billion dollars were behind him. Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla and X, and even the owners of Meta and Amazon supported him,” he said.

However, she ruled out the idea that the powerful global figures would support Imran Khan. “People who shape the progressive world do not waste their time in failed and deposed leaders. They do not make bad investments.”

Remam said the mere appeal letters would not be enough to ensure the release of Imran Khan. “If he asks for mercy, he may get some relief. But I don’t see that they keep him in jail for too long,” he said. “He has not even completed two years yet. No career politician has been imprisoned for so long.”

He also claimed that no friendly country was willing to enjoy Imran Khan. “Even if Western countries are eager to protect it, the establishment will not let it go.”

Remam revealed that he plans to form his own political party instead of joining an existing one. She criticized PTI’s previous media policies, claiming that she was expelled from television during her government.

She ruled out any personal interest in Imran Khan or PTI’s policy, stating: “I don’t follow any news about him, I am interested.” He also made fun of the idea that Imran had written letters looking for clemency, saying: “Were they written with ink or nose?”

Remam said he had personally witnessed PTI’s leaders “begging for mercy” and suggested that similar actions could lead to the eventual liberation of Imran Khan.

As for national policy, he criticized the current state of governance. “There is no visible government in Karachi, and Lahore is not clean. Governance means facilitating people’s lives.”

He also accused the PPP of staying in the background, while the PML-N had the worst part of the government’s responsibilities. “Whoever is in power will now complete its full term of five years.”

Reham expressed their sympathy for PTI supporters, calling them “innocent people who were deceived.” However, he made it clear that his sympathy did not extend to the leadership of the party. “If I had any sympathy for PTI’s leadership, things would have been different,” he said.
