Shahid Khaqan blocked the hotel before the opposition conference

The National Conference of the Great Opposition Alliance faced an obstacle when Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the coordinator of the opposition link committee and the former prime minister, was forbidden to enter a private hotel in Islamabad, where the conference was supposed to be held.

The Great Alliance accused the authorities of trying to stop the conference and promised to hold the event at all costs. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrived at the scene, only to find a strong presence of FC (border police) and police forces parked outside the hotel.

Upon arrival, Abbasi was denied entry.

When addressing the situation, the opposition leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, declared that those who advised Mohsin Naqvi and Shehbaz Sharif that prevent the conference from happening ‘Duffer Prize’ on March 23.

He also expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of the country, declaring: “The country is not progressing.”

Omar Ayub further criticized the government, describing it as a government of “delivery 47”, without a mandate of the people. He also criticized government attempts to advertise in newspapers, stating that such actions would not lead to progress.

Omar Ayub, in his speech, requested a public demonstration in Baluchistan, despite the opposition of the provincial government. He also mentioned that the issue of missing persons was one who had raised before the president of the president of Pakistan. In addition, he demanded that the federal government fulfill its obligations with the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

He concluded by emphasizing the importance of defending the Constitution and the rule of law, stating: “We are here to strengthen the State and defend the Constitution, particularly article 7, which clearly defines the State.”

Yesterday, the great opposition alliance accused the government of trying to block its planned conference, insisting that the event will take place as scheduled tomorrow, despite the obstacles.

The leaders of the Alliance, including Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Omar Ayub and others, held a press conference after a crucial meeting to discuss the situation.

Abbasi revealed that the alliance had been trying to ensure a place for the conference during the past week. Initially, he said the first place was canceled, followed by a second, with the explanation that the National Cricket team needed to pass.
