Sajid Hassan broke his silence on Thursday for the alleged participation of his son in the case of murder of Mustafa Amir, expressing anguish for the hurry of the public to declare him guilty without concrete evidence.
Hassan’s son, Sahir Hassan, was arrested along with three others during the raids in Karachi’s defense area.
The arrests occurred as part of the ongoing investigation on the high profile murder of Mustafa Amir, 23, which disappeared in January. His body was found in early February, about a month after he disappeared.
During the interrogation, the police said that Sahir confessed to sell drugs through Snapchat over the past two years, allegedly winning around RS1,500,000 per week.
The authorities affirmed that he admitted to supply drugs to Mustafa Amir and Armaghan Qureshi, the main suspect in the case.
Going to journalists, the actor said that the murder was a “heartbreaking tragedy” and prolonged sympathy with Mustafa’s family.
“I have not been able to sleep since I heard Mustafa’s message,” he said. “Mustafa was like my own son. I just want justice to prevail, not only for my child but for all the families involved. “
Hassan, however, criticized his son’s treatment in the media and by society. “My son has already been convicted without judgment. I am not defending their actions, but I am only asking for a fair legal process, ”he added.
The actor also revealed that his family had been socially isolated, with neighbors separating the ties and job opportunities that were exhausted.
Police said Sahir’s confession included the names of more than 12 clients and detailed how he directed his drug business exclusively through Snapchat. The drugs were recovered from their possession during the arrest, the authorities added.
The legal representatives of Hassan’s family argued that drug positions should be handled separately from the investigation of the murder, calling for the linking of the two cases an attempt to divert the attention of primary investigation.
“My son’s mistakes should not be used to eclipse the investigation of murder,” Hassan said.
Despite the evidence, the actor expressed his confidence in the judicial process.
“I believe in court. I want the truth to come out, no matter how painful it is, “he said.
The Court extends Armaghan’s physical return
Today early, an anti -terrorism court (ATC) extended the physical return of Armaghan Qureshi and Shiraz, key suspects in the case of murder of Mustafa Amir, for five days when ordering his medical exam.
During the audience, Armaghan said that he was being tortured in police custody and requested that they are not given an additional interrogation. In addition, he declared that access to a bath was denied for ten days.
However, the Court dismissed its accusation that access to a bathroom was denied that “if that were the case, would not be standing here.”
The Court allowed the defendant to meet with his family and lawyers in the presence of the police and the court officials.
