CM wants online skills course record

Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued directives to launch an online portal to guarantee an easy and fast online record for technical and vocational training institutions since Saturday to guarantee optimal opportunities for young people.

According to a statement, he said, “from the reception of the application to the issuance of the certificate, the entire process will be completely online.”

She said the registration would be open for the associated engineer diploma courses (DAE) with a discount rate.

The prime minister said that the condition of opening a bank account in the name of the institution had relaxed until the issuance of certificate. He added that students and their parents would be released from the discomfort of visiting the offices by providing them all relevant online information.

Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz said: “According to the 2019 Punjab Skills Development Authority, it has become mandatory for all technical and vocational training institutions to register with the Punjab skills development authority.”

In case of violation, six months in prison and a fine of up to RS1 million will be imposed.

She stressed that a list of 622 illegal institutions and not approved on the website of the authority had been published.

“The details of all the approved institutions together with the approved courses are available on the web portal. The approved courses curricula are also available on the PSDA website,” he added.

She said complaints could be presented in line with respect to any illegal institution. A help line has also been established to find information about technical and vocational institutions. “

Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz said: “We want our young people to move towards work on their own by making them skilled. We want to provide opportunities to unemployed, a valuable asset in the country.”
