Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has intervened to address the continuous problems of gas supply interruptions during Sehri and IFTAR in Ramadan month, directing immediate actions to guarantee a gas flow without problems and uninterrupted during critical hours.

In a night emergency meeting, the prime minister convened the discussions with the managing directors and the senior management of SSGC and SNGPL to address the problems of low gas pressure and interruptions in the service, said Express News.

As a result of the meeting, Sui Southern Gas Company announced a 10% increase in gas pressure to guarantee a better delivery during peak hours.

In addition, the gas supply to the areas located at the end of the distribution networks will begin from 30 to 45 minutes before Sehri and IFTAR, helping to improve the pressure in these regions.

To further monitor the situation, Sui Southern announced the establishment of control rooms both in the central office and in regional offices.

These rooms will supervise the daily gas supply situation, ensuring that complaints related to low pressure are addressed and quickly resolved in an emerging way.

Meanwhile, SNGPL also promised to adhere to the directives of the Prime Minister, assuring citizens that the gas supply during the hours of Sehri and IFTAR would remain without fail.

They urged the public to inform any problem through the 1199 help line for immediate resolution.

Yesterday, residents of several areas in Karachi faced significant difficulties due to interruptions in the gas supply during IFTAR time.

According to reports, areas such as the Liaquatabad B, Liaquatabad 4 area, the Federal Capital area and Northern Nazimabad have been without gas supply, which has caused inconveniences for residents. In addition, parts of Nazimabad, Gub Col Col Col Col Col Col Col Col Col Col Col Col Colster and several blocks of Gulshan-E-Iqbal are also experiencing interruptions in gas services.

However, a spokesman for Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has denied claims with respect to gas cuts. The spokesman declared that the gas supply works normally, with 95% of the areas that receive gas. He acknowledged that there are complaints from the remaining 5% of the areas.

Residents continue to express frustration at the time of these interruptions, particularly during the crucial period of Ifar. Before Ramadan, SSGC had announced the gas load removal schedule for the holy month while guaranteeing an uninterrupted supply during Sehr and IFTar hours.

According to the schedule, the gas supply remained uninterrupted from 3:30 pm to 10:00 pm and from 3:00 am to 9:00 am to accommodate the needs of SEHR and IFTAR. However, consumers experienced gas supply suspension from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm and again from 10:00 pm to 3:00 am
