A warehouse belonging to an online food delivery company in Karachi caught fire on Monday night, with firefighters facing significant challenges in launching the operation to extinguish the fire.

Despite reaching the site of unfortunate storage located in the Nazimabad area of the port city, firefighters could not enter the facilities due to excessive smoke and a lack of ventilation, leaving them unable to begin the efforts to extinguish fire even four hours after the fire.

The officials knocked down a wall from the warehouse to let the smoke escape so that the fire could be off.

The warehouse, full of several products, including edible items, has only one point of entry, which has complicated the situation, fire department officials said.

There are currently five fire trucks on the scene, but the authorities have said they cannot say with certainty how long the operation will take to turn off the fire.
