PHC seeks answers about missing people

The Superior Court of Peshawar (PHC) has issued notices to provincial and federal governments on the requests presented for the recovery of 10 missing persons, seeking their response.

During the hearing, the president of the Interim Supreme Court Syed Muhammad Attique Shah commented that the authorities present reports in the Court that only indicate that the missing person is not under his custody.

He emphasized the need for complete reports, covering all aspects of the missing person and why people have disappeared.

The requests were heard by a single member bank that includes the president of interim justice. As the hearing began, the additional lawyer, the attached attorney general Ubaidullah Anwar and the focal person of the Sp Kamal Hussain Tori police appeared before the court.

The President of the Interim Justice interrogated the police person of the police about the growing number of missing persons.

In response, the focal person said that many people disappeared alone due to personal enes, debts or to evade arrest. To this, the president of the Supreme Court commented that these people seem to be more skilled than the police, and added that the law enforcement agencies should have the proper knowledge of why a person had disappeared.

In addition, he criticized the authorities for presenting vague reports that simply declare that the missing individual is not in his custody.

He stressed that the reports must be integral and cover all the relevant factors. In response, the additional general defender recognized the suggestion, agreeing that the officers of the house of the station (Shos) should submit detailed reports about each missing person, including their character, businesses and other relevant aspects.

The court was also informed that some people disappeared due to bankruptcy, while others finally pretend their disappearances. The Bank issued notices to provincial and federal governments, looking for an answer at the next hearing on the cases of the missing person.

Faisal Javed Case

The Superior Court of Peshawar issued a notice to the Federal Government on Monday for a request for a court order against the name of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf Leader Faisal Javed in the output control list.

The case was heard by Judge Waqar Ahmed and Judge Sabitullah Khan.

Alam Khan Adenizi appeared for the petitioner Faisal Javed, additional general defender of the provincial government, while the attached attorney general Rahat Nahqi represented the federal government in the court.
