London: A beneficial organization celebrated the first open Iftar within the state apartments of Windsor Castle in the 1,000 years of castle history.

St George’s Hall, worldwide recognized by the host of state banquets, welcomed more than 360 guests of all origins to mark the first open IFTAR event of 2025 organized by the Ramadan Tent project in collaboration with Royal Collection Trust, the beneficial organization that receives visitors to official regional residences.

It is the first event of its kind to mark the Sacred Muslim month of Ramadan within the state apartments in the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world in the world, and the first meeting of IFTAR was held in the hall, which was built in the fourteenth century during the reign of King Eduardo III.

Until now, Open Iftar has gathered more than one million people throughout the United Kingdom and saw that some of the best known places in Great Britain open their doors to visitors of all religions and none, to foster community, inclusion and cultural exchange during Ramadan.

Omar Salha, founder and CEO of Ramadan Tent Project said: “Break our fast and mark the sacred month of Ramadan in Windsor Castle, one of the most famous and iconic real points in the world, is an incredibly surreal and moving time to share with people of all religions and none.

To receive an overwhelming interest of new partners and spaces throughout the capital and the United Kingdom is a beautiful tribute to Ramadan.”

Simon Maples, Director of Visitors Operations (London and Windsor) at Royal Collection Trust, said: “… This year we are organizing the event at St George’s Hall, the largest of the magnificent state apartments of the castle, where state banquets generally take place, which means we can welcome more than 350 guests to share an IFTAR meal in this historical environment.”
