Alex Ovechkin will donate to cancer investigation for the rest of the NHL career


Washington capitals The star Alex Ovechkin is looking for the history of hockey, and the veteran NHL star made a commitment on Wednesday that will have an impact beyond sport.

The capitals announced on Wednesday an association with Ovechkin, Hockey Fights Cancer and the V Foundation to raise money for pediatric cancer investigation that is parallel to their search for the search for NHL career goals.

In a statement provided by the team, Ovechkin promised to use its platform to make a difference.

“Throughout my NHL career, I have met many brave children who fight against cancer, and I feel it is important to do what I can to help save more lives from this horrible disease,” said Ovechkin. “I want to thank the V Foundation for all your hard work, and I hope to use my platform and do everything possible to help promote the mission of cancer and hockey Foundation and hockey.”

Ovechkin is 11 goals to break the brand of 894 goals from Wayne Gretzky. Starting with Wednesday’s game against New York Rangers, Ovechkin will make a donation equal to the total goals of his career every time he scores during the rest of his career.

And his donations will be paired by Monumental Sports & Entertainment, owner of the limits.

“We are delighted to have Alex in our team. We hope to celebrate their achievements and celebrate together the advances in cancer research.”

Ovechkin, 39, has 31 goals this season after being left aside for 16 games after breaking his leg in November.
