Jit Grills PTI leaders about the smear campaign

The main leaders of PTI, including lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, Raoof Hasan and Shah Farman, appeared on Friday before a joint research team (JIT) was recently formed to investigate a smear campaign launched on social networks against state institutions allegedly by the PTI.

According to the sources, the JIT interrogated the leaders for 1.5 hours, questioning them about PTI’s social network managers. All relevant publications on social networks were also shown to leaders.

The lawyer Gohar Ali Khan and others were also interrogated about the financing of the party. Two members of the PTI Finance Department also appeared before the researchers. The Finance team presented complete financing records to the JIT.

Later, during a telephone conversation with Express News, Barríster Gohaha said that the party respects all institutions and does not want any cracks with them.

In response to a question, he said he never published anything against the institutions of his account. Speaking with reference to his appearance before JIT, he said that the team asked questions in a pleasant atmosphere and showed some publications on social networks.

“Jit questions will be discussed within the party. We will also discuss social networks consultations with the founder of PTI Imran Khan, ”he added.

To Day Earlier, The Jit Issued Notes to Senior Pti Leaders and Workers Including Gohar, Salman Akram Raja, Raoof Hasan, Asad Qaiser, Fordous Shamim Naqvi, Hammad Azha Arshad, Sibghat Ullah Viak, Azhar Mashwani, Numan Afzal, Jibran Ilyas, Salman Raza Zaidi, Zulfi Bukhari, Musa Virk, Ali Hasnain and others.

According to the notices issued by the Islamabad IG office, the Federal Government constituted the JIT under section 30 of the 2016 Electronic Crime Prevention Law.

The team, led by the Islamabad Police Inspector, is investigating whether the defendant and his accomplices were involved in an organized effort to spread the disorder in Pakistan through a malicious social networks campaign.

The notices, sent to the leaders and workers of PTI separately, said: “There is enough material available with the JIT to suggest the participation of the summoned or their knowledge close to the matter under investigation.”
