Pakistan Railways will operate four special trains from Ramadan to accommodate passengers traveling through EID, the Federal Minister of Railways Hanif Abbasi announced on Monday.
In statements to the media outside the House of Parliament, Abbasi said that the improvements in rail services would soon be visible.
He added that information was made on the performance of the railway department and the next plans.
The minister recognized financial losses in the sector and promised efforts to reduce the deficit.
He also addressed reports of defective luggage scanning machines at railroad stations, stating that a meeting would soon be held to address the problem.
Abbasi emphasized the need to improve rail security, admitting that the current measures were inadequate. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improve online operations with the directives of the Prime Minister.
Hanif Abbasi was recently included in the Federal Cabinet as new wallets were announced.
According to the notification of the Cabinet Division, Khawaja Asif will continue to serve as a defense minister, while Azam Nazir Tarar has been assigned to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights.
In addition, Pakistan Railways announced review hours for reservation offices during Ramazan last week, according to which the morning shift will work from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm, while the night shift will work from 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm
In addition, Friday, there will be a break for Friday’s sentences from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm
However, the reserve offices that operate in a single shift will continue with their existing work hours. The new times will remain in force until Ramazan 15, after which all reservations will return to their previous schedules.
