- Claims report The security architects are winning around $ 200,000+ a year
- The companies of the West and the northeastern United States pay the best, Ians find
- However, many workers believe that there is not enough professional progression
Although cybersecurity workers are not happy with their employers, they are still receiving high compensation for their jobs, according to new research.
A report by Ians Research and Artico Search has revealed that security engineers are earning an average of $ 191,000, and security architects earn an even higher average of $ 206,000.
Research confirms specialized skills in areas such as cloud security, Application Safety and Threat Intelligence The highest wages.
Cybersecurity continues to pay well
Despite high salaries, the report found regional salary gaps in the United States, with the West (home of a considerable part of Big Tech). The northeast continues in second place, with the southeast and central of the United States informing lower salaries.
The study also included Canada, who is left behind all US regions when it comes to total salary.
Even with attractive salaries, cybersecurity workers continue to be dissatisfied with their employers, with only one in three prepared to recommend their employer. The growth of the limited career stood out as a main concern, with less than two out of five happy with their opportunities for professional progress and almost half (45%) frustrated with slow progression. Consequently, three out of five cybersecurity professionals are considering a change of work.
The two companies also analyzed the impact that these factors have on employers. Organizations with compensation gaps, limited professional growth and strict policies of return to the office (which have been sweeping the industry in recent months) tend to have talent acquisition and retention problems.
“The CISOs that create growth opportunities for members of their high performance team through leadership training, tutoring and skills development have a much greater capacity to attract and retain the main security professionals,” said Steve Martano, a member of the Faculty and Partner of Ians in Artico Search.
