According to reports, Microsoft plans to launch the next Xbox console in 2027.
That is according to Windows Central, who states that the sources have indicated that the “internal successor” has been “totally green to the CEO Satya Nadella” and is now “completely in production.”
It is understood that next -generation hardware will include a “premium successor of the powerful Xbox Series X” series and several new controller options, and is scheduled for its launch in 2027.
Microsoft has previously confirmed that an Xbox Series X successor is in process. In 2021, just six months after the launch of its current consoles, the company said it was “working hard on new hardware and platforms”, but could not offer more details at that time.
Although it seems that the next Xbox console is a couple of years, Central Windows also reports that a portable PC Games console will be released at the end of this year.
It is said that the company is working with an unknown “Oem PC” to launch a Xbox Partner console currently under the name of ‘Keenan’ code.
There are still no specific details to unpack, but Window Central sources say that the portable device looks “unequivocally ‘Xbox'”, with an official Xbox guide button and design sensibilities.
In November 2024, Xbox’s head, Phil Spencer, confirmed that Microsoft was working for Xbox portable prototypes, saying that “the” expectation is that we would do something “in the category of portable devices.
