The founder of Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy, revealed that the United States government approached him about a position inside his ranks.
Portnoy described the call he received from someone within the government as “strange” in a video posted on his X account.
He said he mentioned the call he received during an appearance with Pak Gazette’ and Stuart Varney by Fox Business, but “nobody paid attention.”

But although he had no interest in work, he found a great requirement to be quite strange.
“I received a call, I don’t know, a couple of months ago. I don’t know when I received the call,” Portnoy explained. “It was like, ‘hey, would you have any interest, Dave, to join the Department of Commerce – Secretary of Bajo [Howard] Lutnick, or the guy who works under him.

“But a warning of joining the government is that someone would have to direct the stool. You can’t direct the stool and work for the government. I suppose Elon Elon [Musk] It does not have a specific title, but you want your CEO with the eye on the ball, right? “
Before explaining the call, Portnoy raised a question about Musk’s work as CEO of Tesla, while carrying out his duties with Dogs, government efficiency department, during the Trump administration.

“The only thing I wonder with Elon, he is Tesla’s CEO, obviously, and he’s doing all these things in Dege, which I think is good,” Portnoy said. “Get rid of government waste, I am in favor of that. But how do you go to Tesla when you work in Doge 24/7?”
Returning to the call he received, Portnoy said it was nothing more than that.
“By the way, even if I wanted to do that, they never followed,” he said. “They gave: ‘Let us know if you can find someone to execute the stool and are interested in it. If you are interested, we will schedule a call in a week for the next steps.’ That never happened, so it was weird.”

Portnoy seems to have no interest in not being able to execute bar sports, which he founded in 2003 and incorporated into a very successful media brand.
