Washington: A new survey reveals that Americans are divided on the management of the economy by Donald Trump, with the most worried that their unpredictable policies, including aggressive import rates, could damage financial stability.
About 57% of Americans think that President Donald Trump is being too erratic in their movements to shake the United States economy, including its aggressive strategy for tax imports that has scared the stock market, a Reuters/Ipsos Survey that closed on Wednesday found.
A third of the respondents said that Trump’s actions were not too erratic and that 11% were not sure or did not respond. Around one in three Republicans said that Trump’s actions were too erratic.
Undoubtedly, 79% of Republicans in the two -day survey said they agreed with a statement that Trump’s actions on the economy “will bear fruit in the long run”, a sign that some people in Trump’s party do not like their style of government, but according to the substance of their policies.
Forty -one percent of respondents in general, and only 5% of the Democrats, said Trump’s policies were eventually worth it.
About 70% of respondents in the survey, including nine out of 10 Democrats and six out of 10 Republicans, said they expected the highest rates would make groceryables and other regular purchases more expensive.
About 61% of respondents in the survey said Trump’s main priority should be in price increase.
The survey survey 1,422 American adults throughout the country and had a margin of error for all 3 percentage points.
