Google is implementing Gems, its customizable AI models, to all Gemini users for free. Gems have existed for a while as part of Gemini Advanced, but now everyone can play with them.
Gems are custom AI models. They can be fictitious characters with whom you have always wanted to speak, like my hero Bilbo Baggins or Jack Reacher, or you can play a character from which you want to obtain advice, such as a fitness coach or language guardian.
They are actually quite easy to create and can be a great time savings. If he frequently asks Gemini to perform tasks such as improving his writing or roles game like his boss to practice difficult conversations, he is likely to spend time preparing him to behave in a certain way before the conversation begins.
For example, I could be writing: “I want you to pretend to be an average executive of the mid -50s in a software company that hates small conversations and loves the Eagles Philadelphia“Before each interaction.
With a gem, you can save time by creating your AI expert and keeping them for the next time, so you can jump directly to the conversation.
Prefabricated gems
Gemini comes with some prefabricated gems that are really worth exploring, including ‘Chess Champ’ (playing standard movements as ‘pawn to D4’). Bachorto, a jewel that is there to help you create ideas. ‘Career guide’ who wants to help him on the work front. ‘Coding partner’ to level their coding skills. ‘Learning coach’, who is created to help him learn almost anything, and ‘writing editor’ that he wants to improve his grammar and prayer structure.
Simply choose a gem and start chatting. You will collect how it works as you advance.
If you want to create your own gem, you must access Gemini through the web interface at Gemini.google.com, instead of the mobile application. Once there is there, click on ‘Gem Manager’ in the left menu, then ‘New Gema’.
Give a name to his gem: I went by Bilbo Baggins in an effort to create one of the heroes of my childhood, to be able to interrogate him about his adventures in the gross mountains. Next, you must give your gem some instructions. Here I entered details of Bilbo’s life and his personality. In the knowledge section, you can load any file or PDF that has to offer more background information.
Once finished, click Save and be ready to start chatting with your new gem. I had a good talk by the fire with Bilbo, but it seemed reluctant to let me hold his magic ring …
