DG ISPR addresses the press conference on Jaffar Express Attack

The General Director of Public Relations between Services (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, addresses a press conference to provide details about the kidnapping of Jaffar Express and the authorization operation that followed.

Baluchistan’s prime minister, Sarfaraz Bugti, also attends the conference.

The test began on Tuesday when the separatist militants ambushed the Jaffar Express en Quetta’s route to Peshawar, exploiting the railroad track and attacking the train with rockets.

The security forces broke into the kidnapped Jaffar Express on Wednesday, asking for a dramatic end of a siege of 30 hours in the steep Baluchistan area, killing the 33 terrorists, while successfully rescued more than 300 passengers.

A day after the operation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said there was no doubt that the attack was linked to Afghanistan.

Spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan told the media that the Afghan soil had been used against Pakistan and that the last terrorist attack against Jaffar Express near Sibi in Baluchistan was also orchestrated and directed by leaders of terrorist rings that operate from abroad.

“The terrorists were in direct communications with Afghanistan -based planners throughout the incident,” he said. The declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs occurred after the army also officially confirmed the Afghan link to the kidnapping of shameless trains.

The spokesman said that Pakistan had repeatedly asked the interim Afghan government that denied the use of his soil for terrorist groups such as Bla for his attacks against Pakistan.
