Virginia Track Baton Head-Smashing: Alaila Everett celebrates the followers rally

The teenager of Virginia who was seen hitting the head of an opponent with a cane during a secondary track meeting on Thursday celebrated a concentration of followers to reiterate her innocence.

The rally occurred only one day after they served it with an aggression for minor crime and an assault burden.

The student, Alaila Everett, celebrated the demonstration outside her school, IC NORCOM High School, in Portsmouth, Virginia. Dozens of individuals were seen attending the rally, while Everette delivered a crying speech, where he thanked his followers while sobbing.

“Thank you all for supporting me,” Everett told the followers, as seen in the images of Virginia Wavy’s news station. “There is no one but I would like to listen to my story, except the people who know me and the people who know that I would never do any of that, I would never harm anyone. I am not a fighter, I am not even confrontational, I would not even do it on purpose, and I would appreciate them for believing in me. I love everyone.”

Everett’s speech was received with strong applause and a song of “We are with you.”

The president of Portsmouth Naacp, James Boyd, also spoke in the demonstration, claiming threats and insults that have been aimed at Everett’s family.

“The Everett family has experienced racial insults, have experienced death threats, and we unequivocally believe that these things are unacceptable,” Boyd said.

The local community activist Germain Green requested the unity of the community in support of the adolescent.

“It bothered me in my heart to see how the whole world was dragging this young woman, dragging her character depending on what they thought they saw. I just wanted to step forward, talk and bring unity and let this young woman know that the city of Portsmouth has her back,” Green said.

Lynchburg Commonwealth’s lawyer confirmed Pak Gazette Digital on Wednesday that a minor assault and aggression crime was presented by the incident.

The incident occurred last Tuesday during a championship meeting, since the images showed Everett breaking their baton on the Chief of Brookville High School Kaelen Tucker during a relay race. Everett and his entire team were disqualified.

Tucker was later diagnosed with a brain shock and a possible skull fracture, since the images of the incident became viral.

Since then, Everett has said that the successes were accidental, in interviews with Wavy and “Good Morning America.”

The Virginia High School League (VHSL) issued a statement to Pak Gazette Digital on the matter.

“The VHSL does not comment on disciplinary individuals or actions due to Ferpa,” said the League statement. “The actions taken by the director of the meeting to disqualify the corridor were appropriate and correct. We thoroughly review all instances such as this that involve the safety of players with participating schools. The VHSL membership has always made a priority to provide students with a safe environment for competition.”

Pak Gazette Digital has communicated with the Portsmouth Public School District to comment from the Everett family.

Before the charges for minor crimes in Everett were announced, the Portsmouth Naacp issued a statement defending the adolescent in conflict on Wednesday.

“Alaila is not an attacker and the holders of the media that allude to that is somehow shameful. We understand the sensitivity of the circumstances for both athletes and their families involved, but this narrative should not be without addressing,” reads the statement.

“Alaila is an honorary student and a star athlete in the historic IC NORCOM High School. According to all reports, she is an exceptional young leader and academic whose athletic talent has been well documented and recognized throughout our state. It has been taken with integrity both inside and outside the field and of any narrative that attached its fault of any criminal activity is a violation of its process of due process process.”
