Order the arrest of PTI Omar Ayub leader for protest cases

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad has rejected the bond of the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Omar Ayub and ordered his arrest and presentation in the court.

The ATC judge, Judge Amjad Ali Shah, announced the rejection of the interim bail for the opposition leader and leader of PTI, Omar Ayub, ordering his arrest and presentation before the court.

Omar Ayub, who faces charges related to the protest of November 26, did not appear in the Court, and his lawyer, Dr. Babar Awan, was also absent during the hearing.

Meanwhile, the court extended the interim bail of Sanam Javed.

Thousands of Pakistani protesters, demanding the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, crossed the security barriers and challenged a closure to enter Islamabad, responding to call a protest of sitting on November 26.

The protesters, who were supporters of the party of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), many of whom were armed with tyrachinas and sticks, collided with security forces while trying to reach D-Chowk. Despite facing tear gas and rubber bullets, many had managed to reach the square early in the afternoon.

In response, the Government invoked article 245 of the Constitution, allowing the civil government to call the Army to help enforce the law and order within the country.

A case was filed against former Prime Minister Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi and former President Dr. Arif Alvi, along with several senior leaders (PTI), in relation to the violent protests that had taken place on November 26.

The charges were registered at the Taxila Police Station under the anti -terrorist laws of Pakistan.

The prominent members of PTI appointed in the case included the opposition leader Omar Ayub, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Prime Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, former Minister Azam Swati, Taimur Masood and Shehry Riaz. More than 300 local PTI leaders and activists were also involved.
