Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has ended the ‘Provincial Action Plan’ to eliminate terrorism and improve law and order in the province.
On Tuesday a high -level meeting was held with Prime Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur in La Silla. Senior officials, including CM advisor on the information lawyer, Muhammad Ali Saif, main secretary, IGP, additional main secretaries, Division Commissioners and Regional Police officers attended the meeting.
The Action Plan is structured around seven key pillars, including anti -terrorist measures, political and social initiatives, legal reforms, good governance, general administrative measures, monitoring and public awareness campaigns.
Describe 84 specific actions in 18 thematic areas, assigning responsibilities to relevant provincial departments and federal agencies with defined deadlines.
The key characteristics of the Action Plan include strengthening the authority of the State, restoring public confidence in the system through visible action against terrorists, the continuation of kinetic operations against terrorists, the strict application of anti -terrorist laws, improving the provision of public services and incorporating community contributions into security and development issues.
According to the Action Plan, an integral database of terrorists and their facilitators will be established, periodic updates for Annex IV and the strict surveillance of people on the list and monthly reviews of cases of rewards in sought -after terrorists are carried out. Strict disciplinary measures against government employees who are facilitating terrorists will be taken. The civil administration will have a main role in the anti -terrorism efforts.
The improvement of the rapid capacity of the Police and the Department of Antiterrorism (CTD), including new recruitments, training and acquisition of modern weapons and equipment, is also part of the action plan. Priority projects for police infrastructure in the southern and merged districts will be included in the annual development program.
After the approval of the terms of reference (Tor) by the federal government, a provincial delegation will be involved with the Afghan tribal elders for negotiations. The federal government will be urged to improve diplomatic commitment to Afghanistan.
A system of collection and exchange of centralized intelligence will be developed, with the integration of local intelligence databases with provincial and federal agencies. Regular meetings of the APEX Committee, the Steering Committee and the Intelligence Coordination Committees at the Division and District level will be held.
