Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Wednesday that Pakistan will accelerate his national development by providing opportunities and resources to his young people, particularly in the agricultural sector.
Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad, the prime minister announced that the Government would send 300 students, selected from a group of 1,000 agricultural graduates, China for specialized training in modern agriculture techniques.
Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized that young people are the greatest asset in the nation and that investing in their skills is crucial to recover Pakistan’s legitimate place in the world.
“These students will acquire advanced experience abroad and then contribute to the national progress to their return,” he said. “Our goal is to transform rural communities by equipping our young people with modern knowledge and business opportunities.”
The prime minister stressed that after completing his education, graduates will be encouraged to launch business companies in their respective fields, particularly in rural areas.
The Government, he said, will provide them subsidies, facilities and loans of low interest to support these initiatives.
Prime Minister Shehbaz praised China as the closest ally of Pakistan and expressed his gratitude to the Chinese president, Xi Jinping for accepting to agree on Pakistani students. He said that his visit to an agricultural university in the hometown of XI had revealed notable facilities and technological advances.
He urged graduates to study China’s agricultural development model and return their best practices to Pakistan to help boost productivity and exports.
The prime minister added that the students selected for the training program come from the four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, and reaffirmed that the selection process was completely based on merit.
Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated the government’s commitment to increase agricultural capacity and guarantee innovation led by young people for national long -term growth.
