PM directs the integration of IT education from grade 6

Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday issued directives to formulate an immediate strategy to make information technology a mandatory issue from grade 6 throughout the country.

The Prime Minister presided over a high -level review meeting on matters related to the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, emphasizing that the promotion of the IT sector and the growth in exports related to you were among the main priorities of the Government, according to a press release from the Prime Minister’s office.

“The inclusion of IT in school plans is vital to prepare our future generations for the demands of the digital economy,” said Shehbaz, asking for unified efforts with provincial governments to guarantee the quality and education of IT standardized at school, university and university levels.

The Prime Minister also instructed the Ministry to initiate IT training programs in underdeveloped regions, particularly in Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Baluchistan.

Ministry officials informed the Prime Minister in detail about current initiatives and the next projects. Under the “school broadband connectivity project” Internet infrastructure in Islamabad schools is being updated.

The meeting was reported that during fiscal year 2024–2025, the Ministry has already provided high -end IT training to 49,800 people and general training to more than 600,000 people.

In collaboration with Huawei, vocational training and training centers are established at the Islamabad International University, the National University of Science and Technology (Nust) and the Comsats University Campus University Lahore.

In addition, Huawei advanced training programs in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, Big Data and cybersecurity have been integrated into the study plans of the Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology of Ghulam Ishaq Khan (Topi), the University of Engineering and Technology (Taxila) and the University of Engineering and Technology Mehran (Jamshor).

The Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training, in association with Huawei, will also provide training to 146,367 students and will update 1,300 laboratories throughout the country. This initiative is expected to benefit students, particularly in Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting was attended by the Federal Minister of Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Chema, Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunications Shaza Fatima Khawaja, president of the Youth Program of Prime Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, senior government officials, and the CEO of Huawei, Ethan Sun.

International skills

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the government was prioritizing efforts to equip the country’s workforce with skills and training aligned with international standards. He was talking to a delegation of the Association of Certified Accounts (ACCA) of seven members, led by his executive brand Helen Brand Obe that asked the home of the Prime Minister.

During the meeting, the delegation highlighted an important role, ACCA played for the development of Pakistan’s economy.

The delegation informed the Prime Minister that the 13,000 Pakistani members of the ACCA were serving around the world in several sectors, while around 40,000 students were in the process of receiving the ACCA membership.
