- Zeekr and MG exhibited new models in the Shanghai Motor Show
- The MG Cyber X brings the emerging headlights
- The 9x of Zeekr is shooting for Bentley and Rolls-Royce with an opulent style
Both MG and Zeekr have joined a large number of Chinese brands to exhibit new exciting models in the Shanghai Motor Show of this year.
Sitting at the most affordable extreme of the spectrum, MG announced the second in its fashionable ‘cybernetic theme series, which includes the innovative two -seater cyber sports car.
While much of the current global MG range is elegant but a bit restricted, the Cyber X is a complete design showcase, with square proportions, a high -driving road presence and great emerging headlights that retract when the ignition goes out.
With a stealthy smoked black paint work, it is the work of former VW and Bugatti Veyron, Joef Kaban, who joined MG at the beginning of last year to bring some design spices to the brand.
Speaking to Autocar, he said that the objective of Cyber X was to show how diverse the company is.
On the back of the corner from the MG stand, Zeekr showed its first hybrid model in the 9x chip, a car that the company expects can legitimately face Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga in the Ultragrammed SUV space.
But unlike Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which costs more than $ 400,000 (or £ 300,000 / au $ 625,000), 9x is scheduled to start around $ 70,000 (around £ 53,000 / au $ 110,000) and offers a lot in terms of intentions of pluslity and technology.
There is a 43-inch film screen in the rear, which allows passengers to recall in an environment of luxuries, while Zeekr says it will be the first model to wear its G-Pilot autonomous driving technology.
According to the brand, its extensive chamber, sensor and suite Lidar is good for true level 3 autonomy, which allows drivers to get their hands from the steering wheel and the eyes of the road where it is legal.
China refine their luxury tastes
Recent reports have suggested that the demand for Premium western brands is cooling in China, since the domestic market looks more towards its own newly created companies for the last and innovative technology of electric vehicles.
Porsche and Ferrari vehicle sales have submerged in recent years, while even luxury watches, wines and spirits have seen a general decrease in sales numbers, according to Finews.
This could be due to several factors, but Jing Daily, which covers China’s luxury market, states that there has been a general general change of wealth signs, while younger buyers expect a much higher level of digital participation in their products.
This is the reason why Audi has launched its own exclusive brand from China in the Audi and Mercedes-Benz confusing that it is showing its concept of MPV V MPV in the Shanghai Motor Show of this year, not only China produces some of the most advanced EVs on the planet, but also exclusively receives some of the newest and most innovative models of western brands.
But both Zeekr and MG are sold far beyond their internal markets, and the couple quickly finds an audience in Europe and beyond. While it is unlikely that the rest of the world can see the gigantic 9x on the roads in the short term, it is very likely that the MG Cyber X will generate a variant of global production.
Cybersster did a great job when establishing the brand as more than a budgetary offer, but Cyber X could be a volume seller that shows that MG can also make a desirable design.
