The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, has made clear the international community that Pakistan will not take the first step in any situation, but will respond with all its force if India carries out aggression.
Speaking in the 2025 Regional Dialogue organized by the Institute of Regional Studies in Islamabad, Dar declared that the world is going through a difficult phase, especially the region, which faces serious challenges. He stressed that peace and prosperity should be everyone’s shared objective.
He said that Pakistan has always advocated peace in the region and constantly increased his voice against aggression.
Referring to the recent incident in Pahalgam, he described him as a false flag operation aimed at diverting the attention of the movements of freedom in progress within India.
He added that several Indian states are witnessing serious human rights violations and that India’s actions are endangering millions in the region.
Giving also mentioned that in recent days, he has held conversations with leaders from several countries regarding the regional situation. Reports have been provided in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the ambassadors of different nations and representatives of the United Nations.
Ishaq Dar declared that after the recent restrictions of India, the National Security Committee of Pakistan made key decisions, which were immediately implemented.
He said that the suspension of India of the Treaty of the Waters of the Indo is a serious violation of international law, and added that India does not have the unilateral authority to suspend or end the treaty.
Dar accused India of pushing the region towards war and said that Pakistan responded in kind to India’s actions as she remained committed to regional peace.
The Foreign Minister also called the Pahalgam incident a false flag operation orchestrated by India. He said that global leaders had urged Pakistan to exercise restriction. While reaffirming Pakistan’s firm policy to condemn all forms of terrorism, give question how a case related to Pahalgam’s attack was registered only ten minutes from the incident.
He said the National Security Committee had decided to give a strong response to any aggression. While the regional situation is evolving, Pakistan will not take the first step under any circumstance.
However, if aggression is imposed, Pakistan will respond with full national resolution and strength.
Dar added that Pakistan had quickly frustrated the adventure attempt of the Indian Air Force and reaffirmed that the country would never allow its territory to be used against any other nation. He urged the international community to take an immediate notice about the worsening of the regional situation.
The Deputy Prime Minister also pointed out that the United Nations has approved clear resolutions on the right to self -determination in the occupied territories. He said that there have been serious violations of these resolutions of the UN Security Council in Jammu and Kashmir (Iiojk).
The problem of Kashmiro, emphasized, cannot be set aside and must be resolved in accordance with the UN resolutions and the aspirations of the People of Cookmira.
