The former NFL and University football player, Jack Brewer, greatly opposes the concept.

“We need to return to athletes,” Brewer told Pak Gazette Digital.

“If a person wants the freedom to earn as much money as they want and can take advantage of the sport to do that, they should be able to do so, and they can, in our professional leagues. But there is no place for an unlimited amount of money to people in university sports.

Brewer argued that the exchange of income would worsen a problem created by NIL since its legalization of 2021: decrease in graduation rates.

“It will continue to see students who are no longer focused on school because their incentive to go to university is no longer to get an education, but to earn money,” Brewer said. “It is not correct for universities to exploit this escape, recruiting athletes who no longer have to concentrate on being students.”
