Multiple Radio Iheartmedia stations suffered a cyber attack in which criminals stole confidential client data, the company has confirmed in a data violation notification letter sent to the affected persons, as well as presentations with multiple generals of state prosecutors of the United States.
The record Iheartmedia saw informing Maine, Massachusetts and California, but said the company left the field to the total number of people affected, so it is not known how many people stole their data.
In the notification letter he has been sending, the company said that between December 24 and 27, 2024, an unauthorized actor “seen and obtained” files stored in systems “in a small number of our local stations.”

So, several radio stations seem to have been beaten, but the company did not say how many.
IHEART is the largest media company focused on audio in the United States, with 870 radio stations and a quarter of one billion listeners each month.
However, the threat actors have assumed the responsibility of the attack, however, Iheart said that whoever was, managed to steal the complete names of the people, passport numbers and other government identification numbers, birth dates, financial account information, payment card information, health information and/or health insurance information.
Threat actors hit the gold with this database. With names, birth dates and health and insurance information, they can go to people with custom phishing attacks, and with passport numbers can participate in identity theft.
The information of the financial account, particularly the information of the payment card, can be used in bank fraud. The data has not yet emerged on sale on the dark website.
To address the threat, Iheart is giving a year of identity theft protection services to affected people. He also configured a dedicated telephone number for people with consultations.
