The British Council has announced the cancellation of all the exams of GCE, IGCSE, IELTS and the University of London scheduled for Thursday afternoon session (PM) in all places in Lahore due to tensions.

According to a statement issued by the Council, the decision has been made in coordination with the relevant exam boards to guarantee the safety of all candidates.

“This decision has been made to prioritize the security of the candidates,” said the Council, urging students and parents to trust only the official platforms of the British Council for the latest updates.

The candidates have been advised to remain in contact with their schools to obtain more orientation. Private candidates have been asked to communicate with the Customer Services Center of the British Council for their assistance.

The statement did not mention whether the exams would be reprogrammed, but emphasized that all additional ads would be made through official channels.

Development occurs after India launched attacks not caused in Pakistan in the early hours of Wednesday, two weeks after she accused her neighbor of participation in a busy Kashmir attack in which 26 people were killed.

Islamabad had denied the accusation and promised to retaliate to missile attacks, also saying that it demolished five Indian planes, 25 drones and damaging multiple posts of stalls.

As tensions continue, authorities throughout the country are on a maximum alert, and flights are also suspended intermittently.
