Netflix recently announced great updates for the design of its platform, and although there are some interesting features to wait in the future, some subscribers remain without convincing.
While the streamer began its life as a place to catch its favorite programs and films without having to travel the rental store, the platform has evolved over the years to be the host of a large amount of video games, and several live events, including weekly WWE shows and large NFL games. The streamer content pivot has led some subscribers to feel frustrated with the unique approach of a user interface that has barely changed since its inception.
However, all that must be changed, with a new home page designed to provide users with the best experience with the media for those who mainly use the platform, be that sport, games or television and movies. Netflix products director Eunice Kim says of the project: “We wanted to create an experience that was more flexible for our broad entertainment offers, more intuitive and receptive to the needs of our members.”
The changes include real -time recommendations based on current mood and interest, additional information about titles throughout the platform as “Emmy Award winner” or “N.#1 on television programs” and a new and clean design for the platform’s destination page.
Are all these changes good?

However, these new features also come with disadvantages, since it is widely speculated that the elimination of interactive television specials such as Black viewpoint: Bandersnatch and Unwavering kimmy scmidt end Kimmy vs the Reverend It is the result of the new software that can no longer admit this type of content.
And that is not the only thing that subscribers are not happy, with a Reddit user who indicates the “new design stinks!” And asking for responsible engineers to be fired, comparing the new user interface with the video notoriously difficult to navigate.
New design stinks! Of R/Netflix
However, some responses to the original publication were more positive, with an answer that indicated “I love the new design”, while others remained cautiously optimistic saying “I am nervous but hopeful.”
Some of the new features are great
However, for my money, although it will definitely get used to, there are some new and great features on the horizon.
To start, the small change of direct access in motion for the search and my list away from the sidebar and at the top of the page will save themselves in the menus while trying to find basic characteristics: for my part, I have changed the profile more than once while trying to find a particular program. It is also intriguing to use the generative in the search function, which means that users can use conversation phrases to concentrate on the type of content they like to see, for example, “I want to see a Mumblecore movie of the mid -2000s” instead of moving through endless comedies.
One of the characteristics that I hope to get to the new design is the food of vertical discovery, illustrated above, which will be tested in the coming weeks. The new feed seeks to replicate the feeling of moving through Tiktok watching movies of movies, except here, if one arouses its interest, instead of participating in an irritating search through the comments to find the title, you can simply take advantage of the video to take directly to the movie or complete show.
It is definitely a new era for Netflix, and one that understands some subscribers nervous, but with the place increasingly overloaded by its amplitude of content, it could be a very welcome update.
