Ben Christman, an offensive lying of university football that had been transferred from Kentucky to UNLVHe was found dead in his apartment outside the campus in February at the age of 21, one day before his birthday.

According to the reports, Christman felt chest pains the day before he died while practicing and submitted to an EKG in a equipment installation.

Well, Clark County Forensic Office (Nevada) announced Thursday that Christman died of cardiac arrhythmia, an irregular beat and cardiomyopathy, a disease that affects the heart muscle.

Christman was in the state of Ohio for two seasons before transferring to Kentucky. He sat the 2023 season with a knee injury and played in special teams in 2024. He was ready to play for UNLV in the next 2025 season.

“The heart of our team is broken to listen to Ben’s death,” said UNLV chief coach Dan Mullen, in a statement at the time of his death. “From the day Ben stepped on our campus a month ago, he made the rebels a better program. Ben was an easy choice for our leadership committee, since he had won immediate respect, admiration and friendship of all his teammates.

“Our prayers are with his family and all who knew him. Ben made a better place and we’ll miss him.”

The president of the school, Keith E. Whitfield, said he was “incredibly sad” when he heard about Christman’s death.

“There is little that can be said that the pain of losing suddenly to a member of our university family at such an early age, and my heart breaks for all who knew and loved him decreases,” he said. “On behalf of UNLV, our most sincere condolences are with the family, friends, loved ones and teammates from Ben during this very difficult time.”

Christman was from Akron, Ohioand played high school football in Revere High School. It was a four -star recruit that came out of high school.
