The warm and dry climate is expected to continue in most Pakistan during the next few days, with the very hot predicted conditions for the southern plains, the Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD) said Tuesday.

According to the PMD, the continental air currently prevails in much of the country, contributing to the continuous heat and dry spell.

While most regions will remain dry, isolated rainy activity and thunderstorms can occur in Gilgit-Baltist, Kashmir and Tuesday Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

On Wednesday, similar climatic conditions will persist, with temperatures that are expected to increase even more in the areas of the South such as Sindh and Southern Punjab. The PMD warned that the afternoons in these regions will probably be “very hot”, especially in Sindh.

During the last 24 hours, hot and dry weather was observed in most areas. However, the scattered rain was recorded in parts of the Alto Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan. Kalam received 6 mm of rain, Pattán 4 mm and 5 mm Chiles. Gupis recorded 3 mm, while Skardu, Bunji and Bagrote saw each one 2 mm.

The highest temperature recorded in the country on Monday was in Dadu, where mercury reached 47 ° C. Other high readings included 45 ° C in Khairpur, Mohenjo-Daro and Larkana.

Looking towards the future, the PMD expects the current climate pattern to remain until Thursday, with hot and dry conditions for most areas and without significant changes planned in the temperature trend.

Citizens are recommended to stay hydrated, avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak hours and take the necessary precautions in areas that experience very hot conditions
