Peshawar:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Department of Education is struggling to meet its registration objectives for government schools, which leads to an extension of the ongoing school admission campaign until May 31.
According to official sources, the department has been below the provincial objective established by the Minister of Education, which aimed to register a million children during the campaign.
In response, the Director of Education has issued formal instructions to all education officers of the male and female district throughout the province, urging them to intensify efforts to comply with the revised deadline.
Officials emphasize that the extension is intended to maximize the registration of students and bring as many children out of school as possible to the formal education system.
It can be remembered that in April, the main secretary Shahab Ali Shah presided over a high -level review meeting on the 2025 school registration campaign.
A detailed presentation was made on the subject of children outside the school and the strategies that are implemented to take them to the educational system. The meeting was reported that approximately 4.9 million children remain out of school throughout the province, while 9 million are currently enrolled in educational institutions.
The special education of the secretary informed the participants that the District Education Officers (DEOS) are specifically aimed at groups with high concentrations of non -registered children.
Emphasizing the importance of community participation, the forum was informed that an integral door -to -door registration campaign is underway, which involves school teachers and local influential.
In addition, elected representatives of local organizations, youth volunteers, community elders and religious leaders to support the campaign at the base level are mobilized.
