The opposition MPA pose the problems of lack of water supply during the heat wave and the cleaning of drains before the rains.
The Sindh Assembly approved on Thursday a resolution condemning the armed attack and the fire caused in the residence of the Interior Minister Zia-Ul-Hassan Lanjar in Moro.
During the session, several bills were also approved, and the members raised multiple calls for calling attention to matters of public importance.
MQM MPA Qurat-Ul-Aain raised the drainage problem before the next season of Monzón in Karachi. She emphasized the need to clean major nallas. Saeed Ghani replied that the Sindh government allocates large funds to KMC for the cleaning of nallas. This time, KMC demanded RS8 billion. The work is ongoing to fix the flow of large nallas mostly clogged by plastic bags.
Ghani said that 45 main nallas of the city will be authorized in June.
Jamaat-e-Islami Muhammad Farooq raised concerns about the serious water shortage in his constituency PS-91. He said that while there is no water shortage in the hydrants, water is now sold through contracts.
During the procedures, the local government minister, Saeed Ghani, presented the resolution condemning the attack on the residence of the Interior Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar in Moro. He said that, although everyone has the right to protest, no law or constitution in the world gives anyone the right to block roads or set the houses.
The Common Interest Council (CCI) has made it clear that a new channel cannot be built without the consensus of all provinces, some people continue to protest and create disturbances, Ghani said.
The opposition leader, Ali Khursheedi, the parliamentary leader of Jamaat-E-Isami, Muhammad Farooq, and Pakistan Tehreek-E-Einsaf (PTI) MPA Owais Ahmed Khan also supported the resolution and called the deeply unfortunate incident. All members stopped their seats in support when the resolution was approved. During the session, the PPP MPA Saadia Javed presented a resolution condemning the attack in Khuzdar, which was approved unanimously by the camera.
Counteract the narrative of extremism and terrorism
The Chamber unanimously approved a bill to establish a center of excellence to combat extremism and terrorism. The bill was presented by the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. The MQM member knows Qaimkhani, suggested sending the bill to the Permanent Committee. However, Zia Lanjar emphasized the importance of the bill, and said that similar centers were established in other provinces. The Sindh Assembly approved an amendment bill for the University of Aror Art in Sukkur and appointed Taha Ahmed and Adil Askari for the Board of Governors of the Nazir University Hussain.
Several call attention notices addressed public concerns. Rashid Khan of MQM highlighted the illegal occupation of 1,500 floors of the Welfare Board of Workers in Hyderabad, demanding their allocation to deserving workers. Labor Minister Shahid Theem declared that a committee formed to guarantee merit -based distribution.
Fauzia Hameed of MQM raised the issue of age relaxation for young people in government works, advocating a relief similar to that approved by the National Assembly. Zia Lanjar said the Sindh government previously offered a relaxation of 15 years, then reduced to five years by order of the Supreme Court. He welcomed the proposal to increase the age limit for commissioner officers from 30 to 35 years, allowing five attempts, qualifying it worthy of consideration.
