NSC condemns Israeli attacks, supports Iran’s right to self -defense

The National Security Committee (NSC) has strongly condemned the acts of aggression of Israel, which threatened to light a broader conflict and reaffirmed Iran’s right to self -defense.

Chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the NSC met in Islamabad on Monday to evaluate the evolutionary regional security situation after Israeli military aggression and US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.

In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office, the NSC expressed its deep regret that Israeli strikes arrived at a time when constructive negotiations between Iran and the United States were underway.

“These reckless actions have increased tensions, threatening to turn on a broader conflict and reduce opportunities for dialogue and diplomacy,” the statement said.

The Committee reaffirmed the right of Iran to self -defense, as described in the United Nations Charter, and asked all relevant parties to exert restriction and return to diplomatic channels.

In addition, he emphasized the importance of defending international human and human rights laws, urging at the end of hostilities through peaceful means.

The NSC offered condolences to the Iranian government and people about the loss of innocent lives and wanted a rapid recovery for the injured.

The Committee also expressed a serious concern for US military attacks. In Iranian nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan on Sunday, calling them violations of the resolutions of the OIEA, International Law and the UN Letter.

The NSC supported Pakistan’s preparation to continue more efforts and initiatives aimed at promoting regional peace and stability, the statement concluded.

The meeting was held in the midst of increasing agitation in the Middle East, caused by Israel’s attack against Iran and even more intensified by the recent US attacks in Tehran nuclear sites.

‘Midnight Operation’

On Sunday, the United States bombed three Iranian nuclear sites, Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan, using the B-2 stealth bombers of the United States Air Force.

The United States launched 75 precision guided ammissions, including bunker-buuster bombs and more than two dozen Tomahawk missiles against three Iranian nuclear sites, said the president of the team leaders, General Dan Caine.

Iran condemned the attack and responded with a flood of missiles aimed at Israeli objectives, hurting civilians and causing significant destruction in Tel Aviv.
