Sting expects drummer Lionel Duke ‘to do it’

Sting has just sent a support message for the drummer of the Christians, Lionel Duke, who suffered a cardiac arrest on stage.

The former police leader played in Liverpool at the On the Waterfront festival in Pier Head, marking his first performance in the city since 1979.

Before the same day, the popular band of the 80s played on the same stage and after two songs, Lionel collapsed with the leader, Garry Christian had to ask for help from emergency services.

Shortly after, a band spokesman confirmed to the audience that Lionel had probably suffered cardiac arrest.

“We really hope it will achieve it,” said the spokesman, adding: “He had no pulse, now he has one, we believe. Thank you very much.”

A publication on the Facebook page of the Christians said: “We are waiting for news from the Heart and Chest Hospital on Broad Green and thank the phenomenal team of doctors present in the Waterfront Liverpool team that intervened so quickly to help our poor Lionel. Please send positive vibrations in this way.”

The Christians supported Sting in complete capacity for a soft transition to their main set and when the My heart form The singer finally took the stage, shared some words about the condition of Lionel Duke.

“The band drummer is well,” Sting told the crowd, adding: “He is in the hospital. We all pray that it will be well. Our thoughts are with him.”
