In a significant development aimed at strengthening the bilateral defense cooperation, the head of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) of aerial staff, the Mariscal del Aire Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, made an official visit to the United States of America.
The visit marks the first for a PAF chief in more than a decade and serves as a strategic milestone in the defense relations of Pakistan-United States, public relations between services (ISPR) said on Wednesday in a statement issued on Wednesday.
The high profile visit, which ended successfully, proved to be essential to deepen institutional ties, while approaching the key regional and global security problems, he added.
During the course of his visit, the head of Air Mariscal Sidhu participated in a series of high -level meetings with the military and political leadership of the United States, focusing on advancing in military cooperation, improving interoperability and exploring roads for joint training and technology exchange, said the ISPR.
In the Pentagon, the head of Air Mariscal Sidhu met with the Secretary of the Air Force (International Affairs) Kelli L Seybolt and the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force, General David W Allvin.
During these discussions, the head of the air staff emphasized the historical and multifaceted relationship between Pakistan and the United States, particularly in the fields of defense and security cooperation, according to the statement.
The conversations focused on advancing in bilateral military cooperation, improving interoperability between the two air forces and exploring opportunities for joint training programs and technology exchange.
The air chief reaffirmed his commitment to further improve military to military between the two nations, highlighting the importance of continuous high -level military commitments.
Both parties agreed to continue the upper level interactions to maintain the impulse in their ongoing collaboration efforts, particularly in joint training, operating exercises and military exchange programs, the ISPR said.
In addition to the meetings in the Pentagon, the air chief visited the United States Department of State, where he met with Brown L Stanley of the Office of Political-Military Affairs and Eric Meyer of the South Affairs Office and Central Asians.
These discussions underlined Pakistan’s constructive role in the promotion of regional stability, their firm commitment to anti -terrorism efforts and its nuanced perspective on the evolutionary geopolitical dynamics of Asia Sur and Central, added the statement.
Other commitments took place in Capitol Hill, where the head of the Chief of Air Sidhu had substantive dialogues with prominent members of the United States Congress, including Mike Turner, Rich McCormick and Bill Huizenga.
These interactions provided an important platform to reinforce the importance of solid bilateral relations, share Pakistan’s opinions on strategic challenges and address the impact of emerging technologies on defense cooperation, said the ISPR.
Throughout his visit, the aerial chief emphasized the status of Pakistan as a peace -loving nation. He reaffirmed the country’s lasting sacrifices and the notable operational achievements in the global war against terror.
The aerial chief also highlighted the evolutionary security calculation of Pakistan in response to the regional geopolitical landscape that changes rapidly, underlining the role of Pakistan in the regional and global peace -maintenance efforts, he added.
The historical visit not only reaffirmed the commitment of the PAF to promote regional and global peace, but also laid the foundations for renewed institutional collaboration, strategic dialogue and improved interoperability between the PAF and the United States Air Force, the statement concluded.
