The rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue in parts of Pakistan as the wet currents of the Arabic sea and the Bengal bay interact with a western wave over the upper regions of the country, said the department of Pakistan’s meteorology (PMD) on Thursday.
According to the PMD, it is likely that the rain of rain/Thundershowers affects Punjab Superior and South, the region of Potohar, the southeast of Sindh, the Northeast and the southern Baluchistan, Cashmira and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In the capital, partially cloudy conditions with rain/Thundershowers are expected both on Thursday and Friday, with a 40% probability in both days.
Heavy rains are possible in isolated locations in Alto Punjab and southern Baluchistan on Thursday. On Friday, the heaviest downpours is expected to change to Kashmir and southern Baluchistan, the agency said.

In Sindh, a warm and humid climate is mainly forecast for most districts, although Tharparkar, Uumerkot, Mithi, Thatta, Badin, Sanghar and Mirpurkhas can experience scattered rains and storms. Karachi and other coastal areas can also receive light rain both on Thursday and Friday.
In Punjab, Rain-Wind/Thundershowers with isolated heavyfalls are forlast at scattred locations in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Kasur, Kasur, Kasur, Kasur Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Okara, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Dera Ghazi Khan, fine, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and surrounding areas.

At least 64 people have died and another 117 were injured due to sudden floods and in incidents related to rain in Pakistan during the past week, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said on Wednesday.
The greatest number of deaths was reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where 23 people, including 10 children.

In a press release issued on July 2, PMD had warned that the monsoon activity would intensify from the night of July 5, and a wave of the west is expected to approach the upper parts of the country before July 6.
According to the notice, it is likely that heavy to very strong rains cause sudden floods in local streams and nullahs in Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Dir, Swat and Kohistan, as well as parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and the northeast of Punjab from July 5 to 8.
The PMD also warned of urban floods in low areas of Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sargodha, Nowshera and Peshawar between July 6 and 8, while landslides and sludge landslides are possible in the mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Kashmir and Kashmir Gilgit-Baltan.
The department advised farmers, travelers and local authorities that remain attentive and take preventive measures, adding that weak structures and advertising fences could also be vulnerable to damage during strong winds and strong rains.
