Islamabad:
The Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, will represent Pakistan at the 32nd Ministerial Meeting of the Regional Forum of the ASEAN (ARF), scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malasia, on July 11 (tomorrow).
The high-level meeting will bring together foreign ministers and high-level representatives of 27 member countries of the ARF, as well as the Secretary General of the ASEAN, to deliberate on political and key security challenges faced by the Asia-Pacific region, said a statement from the DPM office.
The agenda will emphasize the strengthening of peace, stability and multilateral cooperation through constructive dialogue.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to articulate Pakistan’s perspective on regional and global developments, underlining the country’s commitment to multilateralism and the resolution of peaceful conflicts. It is also expected to celebrate bilateral meetings with their Malaysian counterpart and other foreign ministers attending the forum.
During its stay in Kuala Lumpur, the DPM will also interact with members of the Pakistani diaspora in Malaysia.
Established in 1994, the ARF is a main multilateral platform for political and security consultations in Asia-Pacific.
