Islamabad:
Pakistan and Turkiye sought to deepen their defense cooperation in the midst of regional instability such as the two parties, in the level conversations here Wednesday, promised to increase bilateral trade to $ 5 billion.

He expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to further strengthen cooperation with Turkiye in various fields, including trade, investment, technology and defense.
Remembering his interactions with President Rece Tayyip Erdogan during the year, including the most recent meeting between the two leaders on the banks of the 17th Ecological Summit, Shehbaz reaffirmed the firm resolution of Pakistan to transform Pak-Turkiye into a strategic association in the coming days.
Welcoming the call for the meeting of the Joint Commission, co -presided by Dar and Fidan, the prime minister expressed the hope that bilateral relations between the two countries obtain a greater impulse, which leads to reinforce cooperation in multifaceted areas.
While reiterating the commitment of both countries to continue their strong and unwavering support for the central interests of others, the prime minister emphasized the need for a narrower coordination between the two parties in the middle of the regional and global environment in rapid evolution, particularly in the context of Gaza and Iran.
Once again, he expressed his deepest gratitude to the Turkish nation and leadership for his firm support for Pakistan during the recent Indian aggression.
The prime minister emphasized the need for concerted efforts from both parties to improve bilateral trade to the mutually agreed target of $ 5 billion. Highlighting the friendly policies with the investors of Pakistan, he invited Turkish companies to expand their investment footprint in Pakistan and invited to the Turkish side to share their experience to help in the structural reforms of Pakistan, economic growth and development efforts.
Meanwhile, at a joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fidan stressed the ongoing efforts to increase the bilateral trade volume to $ 5 billion. He pointed out that both countries were evaluating cooperation mechanisms in sectors such as mining, natural gas, oil and rare earth elements.
“In this context, the agreement signed in April between Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) and Pakistan national oil companies represents a very significant step forward,” said Fidan. “This is one of the results of the most institutionalized approach we are working to establish,” he added.
Giving said that Islamabad and Ankara agreed to reinforce cooperation in a series of areas, including the economy, the defense industry, energy and infrastructure. By praising the Turkish defense industry, Dar said that Islamabad wants to even more strengthen its continuous cooperation of strategic industries and defense and promotion of peace and stability in the region.
The two parties are “actively” involved in different activities, including the development of capacities in counterterrorism, Dar said. Turkish companies will also participate in the privatization of distribution companies in the electricity sector, he added.

According to public relations between services (ISPR), both parties agreed to establish joint work groups to deepen collaboration in aerospace technologies, advanced training and new war domains.
Gular praised the operational preparation of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), particularly during his recent conflict with India, and expressed interest in expanding industry associations to the industry.
It also emphasized the importance of joint companies in disruptive technologies, including unmanned air systems, advanced plane and pilot exchange programs. Both parties promised to improve the joint air exercises and finish plans for more intensive training cooperation.
The ISPR said the meeting reflected the “shared commitment of fraternal nations to improve strategic cooperation, solidify defense ties and promote lasting institutional links between the armed forces of Pakistan and Turkiye.”
