Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the expansion of Pakistan’s tax base and the ease of low -income citizens was among the main priorities of the Government by reviewing the continuous reform and digitalization efforts of the Federal Income Board (FBR).
By chairing a high -level meeting on Monday, Sharif praised the launch of Simplified Tax Declarations in Urdu and requested the establishment of an aid line to help the public submit statements. “In fiscal reforms, the approach must remain in the convenience of the common man,” he said.
He directed the authorities to guarantee the validation of third parties for all FBR reforms to maintain transparency. The Prime Minister emphasized that digital tax declarations, councils and linked to the database would mainly benefit from salaried persons.
Soon a public awareness campaign will be launched to promote a broader adoption of the new tax submission system. “For the first time in the history of the country, the implementation of a Fiscal Evaluation System based on AI is a great success,” Hude praised the efforts of the Ministry of Finance and FBR.
Sharif also instructed that the special support extended to small and medium enterprises (SME) to integrate into the new digital billing system.
The meeting attended ministers, FBB officials and members of the economic team. The participants were informed about the digitalization of the billing, the e-bilty, the load monitoring and the establishment of a central control and control center.
According to the FBR, the tender for the control center will be completed shortly, and the system is expected to be operational in September. The centralized system aims to improve real -time data access and decision making.
The officials also highlighted the AI -based declaration declaration system. Merchants can now send statements before shipments arrive, allowing the complete exemption of initial tasks. The proportion of early statements is expected to increase more than 95%, allowing direct delivery of ports to factories.

Under the digital billing initiative, all companies must issue receipts through the FBR online platform. It is expected that more than 20,000 companies join the system in the coming months, with 8,000 invoices worth RS11.6 billion issued in just one month.
The meeting was informed that returns for salaried people will be held on July 15, while other categories may present on July 30. Urdu versions for salaried people will also be available.
The FBO loading and load monitoring systems were also reviewed. These platforms, assisted by Turkish experts, will allow real -time monitoring of the movement of goods and compliance with taxes, aligning Pakistan infrastructure with international standards.
