Karachi: The Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD) predicted the rain accompanied by thunder in Karachi on July 19, when the monsoon winds enter most of the parts of Sindh.

According to Met’s office, Karachi will experience a partially cloudy and humid climate on Thursday and Friday, while rain activity is probably intensified in several districts of the province.

The department said the rain with Thunder is expected today (Thursday) in Dadu and Qambar Shahdokot, while the showers are also probable tomorrow (Friday) in Tharparkar, Uumerkot, Mirpurkhas, Thatta, Sujawal and Badin.

The meteorological system is expected to bring a more widespread rain on July 19, with predicted thunderstorms in Tharparkar, Uumerkot, Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad.

The rain is also likely in Tando Muhammad Khan, Sanghar, Badin, Thatta and Sujawal the same day.

Meanwhile, the heavy rains of the monsoon have wreaked havoc in different parts of Punjab, killing at least 43 people in the last 24 hours and causing urban floods in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

According to a spokesman for the water and sanitation agency (WASA), the managing director of the authority communicated with Brigade 111 of the Pakistan army, since it has decided to call the army in case of emergency.

With the most downpour PMD forecast, the sirens have sounded in areas surrounding Nullah Leh as the water level has increased by 22 feet, which leads to the metrics office to issue evacuation orders.

Until now, Saidpur has received 53 mm of rain, 77 mm in Golra, 95 mm in Bokra, 67 mm in Shamsabad, 105 mm in Kachehri, 90 mm in Pirwadhai and Gowalmandi and 80 mm in Katario.

An explosion of the cloud was seen in Chakwal, causing up to 423 mm of rain.

Sheikhupura and surrounding areas have also been mistreated by heavy rains that measure up to 217 mm.
