Mariah Carey’s Christmas album is one of her most iconic works. However, when it was initially proposed to her, she recalled that she was reluctant.
To explain her doubts, the Grammy winner said on the 30th anniversary of her Merry christmas LP that she at the time thought was too young to record such an album.
“I remember I wasn’t really sure about doing a Christmas album, even though the record company thought it would be a good idea,” he said. All I want for Christmas is you the singer told the Best magazine.
She continued: “I thought you made a Christmas album when you were older, not when you were 20, like I was at the time.”
“So yeah, I was a little apprehensive, but the more I thought about it and we thought about the songs, the more I got into it,” he said. Obsessed the hitmaker added.
“When we recorded it, I had Christmas decorations in the studio and I had a great time,” the 55-year-old noted.
