According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence operation was carried out on the alleged presence of terrorists in the general area of Jani Khel in Bannu district.
During the operation, the ISPR said that the security forces troops indeed attacked the location of the terrorists and as a result killed two of them.
Meanwhile, another IBO was carried out in North Waziristan district where five terrorists were effectively neutralized by security forces during the exchange of fire and eight were injured.
“However, during the intense exchange of fire, Major Muhammad Awais (age: 31, resident of Narowal district), who was leading his troops from the front, made the ultimate sacrifice and hugged Shahadat,” the statement said.
The ISPR added that in a third encounter that took place in South Waziristan district, security forces successfully neutralized six terrorists and injured eight others.
Clearance operations are being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area as Pakistan’s security forces are determined to end the menace of terrorism, the statement said.
